Kinship printshop
Wingbeat 88 is excited to announce the next chapter of our Art & Advocacy Program: the WB88 Kinship Printshop.
The Kinship Printshop is a community-based resource rooted in Indigenous organizing, creative resistance, advocacy, and collective capacity-building. We believe art can be a powerful tool for organizing, storytelling, education, movement building, and action. Through the printshop, we are creating space to share skills and resources, make things together, and support Indigenous-led movements and campaigns.
What We Offer
Workshops & Social Action Art Builds
We facilitate creative resistance workshops and social action art builds, sharing printmaking techniques and other creative practices that have long been part of Indigenous movements and social action. Workshops can be tailored to your group, campaign, or action.
Silk Screening
We have been bringing single-color mobile silk screening to events that align with Wingbeat 88’s mission and values, and our printshop now allows us to produce designs of up to four colors. So far, we’ve screen printed banners, patches, T-shirts, broadsides, and more. We can also help you develop and prepare a screen that you can take with you and use for your own organizing.
Large-Format Printing
Our professional large-format printer allows us to produce paper and canvas prints, vinyl banners, posters, large photographs, stickers, vinyl, and other materials that can support organizing, events, campaigns, and creative actions.
Knowledge Sharing & Consultation
We’re happy to share knowledge, troubleshoot projects, and collaborate on the creative side of advocacy campaigns. Whether you’re new to printmaking or already have experience, we want to learn alongside you and help bring your ideas to life.
A Community Printshop, Not a Professional Printshop
The Kinship Printshop is not a professional commercial printshop. We are a nonprofit organization creating a shared resource for Indigenous organizing and advocacy.
We are here to share resources, learn together, make beautiful things, and build our collective capacity.
That might look like:
Learning how to silk screen and making your own T-shirts for an event
Bringing a design to life as a banner for a march, gathering, or protest
Facilitating a workshop on creative resistance and printmaking
Partnering on pop-up silk screening at an event
Collaborating on an art build for a nonviolent direct action (NVDA)
Developing materials and creative strategies for an advocacy campaign
Helping you build the skills and tools to continue making things on your own
Kinship & Reciprocity
We want to share this resource in the spirit of kinship and reciprocity. There is no single way for that to look.
You might bring your own materials for a project and leave leftover supplies for others to use. You might contribute materials in kind, such as ink, photo emulsion, screens, paper, or other printmaking supplies. You might share your skills, knowledge, time, or connections.
We are interested in building a resource that circulates through community rather than simply providing a service.The goal is not just to make prints. It is to make connections, share knowledge, strengthen movements, and build the creative capacity we need to imagine and create change together.

Indigenous-owned market
We’re thrilled for the upcoming launch of our Indigenous-owned downtown art market!
Created and operated through our nonprofit, this market is designed to support Indigenous artists by providing an affordable space to showcase and sell their work.
Beyond supporting artists today, this initiative helps build opportunities for tomorrow. The market will serve as a place where youth can gain valuable entrepreneurial skills through hands-on business experience, mentorship, and training, fostering the next generation of Indigenous artists and business leaders.
