I’m a family-centered caregiver currently supporting a loved one living with dementia. After losing my mother to dementia and now facing the same diagnosis with my aunt, I’ve become committed to learning more about the disease and advocating for families through community organizing. This experience reinforces why voting matters, so our communities have strong leaders and the resources our loved ones need. This is the reality for many families across Diné Bikéyah.
I love being with my family and my grandchildren. They are my pride and joy!
I am currently studying dementia and exploring better ways to connect with my Diné elders. My goal is to serve them with respect and strengthen opportunities for their voices, beliefs, and perspectives to be heard.
If I could choose to be something different than human for one day, I would choose to be an eagle so I can experience its strength, courage, and the world from its perspective.
If I could have dinner with any two people, it would be my late mama and my late brother.
