About SHONRI BEGAY

Yá’át’ééh shik’éí dóó shidine’é! Shí éí Shonri Begay yinishyé. Táchii’nii (Nát’oh Dine’é) nishłį́. Ákót’éego diné asdzáán nishłį́. Flagstaff kééhasht’į́, ndi Shonto déé’ naashá. 

I love exploring the outdoors, working on my farm, cooking, learning how to use plants and going to the movies.

Experienced in community and youth engagement (especially in STEM fields), public outreach related to climate change and environmental justice issues affecting Indigenous Peoples, chronic disease prevention using cultural strengths, physical fitness, mental health and suicide prevention, and community gardening.

Presently studying Diné and Tohono O’odham languages,  filmmaking, and small business skills.  

I currently work as a farmer, a garden educator for Native high schoolers, and as a river guide on youth trips.

If I could choose to be something different than human for one day... I’d be a mountain.

If I could have dinner with any two people... it’d be shimá sání and shinálí ‘asdzáníígíí when they were younger.
